Where you find beauty and words
About Me
Since my home, i.e., my motor yacht, burned, my life has changed drastically. I am no longer living on a boat; instead, compliments of my children, I live in an apartment in Arvada, Colorado, for several months, and in Catonsville, Maryland, for the rest of the year. I lost everything, including my antique book collection, my inventory of paintings and drawings, and several hundred copies of my books.
I have started drawing and painting again, and that will be the inventory you see for sale on this site. I hope you enjoy my new drawings and paintings, as well as my future work. I use the feedback from sales and comments as a basis for criticism for all my future work, just as I have in the past.
My work is a continuation of most of my life’s work. Working with and against the mathematical elements of the Golden Sector to determine my compositions. My Thesis and the basis for my Ph.D. dissertation were the study of those concepts.
I work with non-objective elements, complemented by real images or sometimes real objects, such as feathers, leaves, and other natural elements. My constant search, both in my writings and my paintings, is to explore what beauty is. Some artists find this repulsive, paintings that are “pretty.” I do not, to the contrary, if you find my paintings “beautiful” or "pretty" for no other reason than that they are beautiful, then I have been successful.
I experiment with surfaces, texture, and colors, sometimes erasing top layers to reveal what lies beneath. Both my colored pencil drawings and my paintings use these techniques. Explore my work, I hope you find it interesting
